Today’s Lesson: Double-check your site after you fiddle with it

Today’s lesson is that you really should double-check your work when you make updates or fiddle around with your site. About a week ago, I started building a website just so that I could learn PHP in a fun way. For reasons unknown to me now, I created a directory called “portfolio” and uploaded my files to the server. Unfortunately, I happen to also have a portfolio page that resides in the same place, so my site was displaying an empty directory instead of lovely photographs. Fortunately for me, not many people actually visit my site, so this wasn’t as tragic as it could have been.

The moral of the story is that when you fiddle around with your website, make sure that you didn’t accidentally break anything in the process.
